Sound
Summary
For the topic of sound, I learned various different sounds that are used in media that develop purpose. Some of these include Soundscapes, synchronous sounds, diegetic sounds, voiceover, and many more. Additionally, I had to complete two projects related to sound and one of them being related to my OWF project.
Sound Project #1
In this project, me and my partner had to create a soundscape which is simply all the sounds in a piece of media, and we got to choose what type of scene we were doing. Our scene was about a man who gets struck by lightning at a police station. We got this idea from "The Flash". We used the resource clip champ to edit all of our sounds. In this project there was also meant to be no visuals to allow us to try and tell a story by only using sound. Overall, this project was well paced and it is pretty easy to tell what is going on just by listening, however, I could have utilized more sounds in the soundscape to make it sounds more realistic. Sound Project #2
For this project I had to revisit my OWF project. If you are reading this and are unsure of what that is, you can revisit my last blog which explains the project. For this project we had to add a soundscape to our OWF project. This was slightly more difficult than sound project #1 because it was sometimes difficult to time the sounds with each movement or scene. Overall, I feel like I did pretty good on this project, however, I noticed that while watching it back, some of the sounds were not perfectly lined up, but I know I will improve this in the future.
